Bedroom interior design trends 2014 – Raw Materials

Image Posted on

The trend for pared-back, simple living is going to be bigger than ever in 2014, with natural materials such as cotton, wood, stone and metal, influencing lots of the new high street collections. Take inspiration from a back-to-basics approach and decorate your bedroom in a simple yet stylish way. Keep floorboards natural or whitewash them, then paint your walls a soft putty colour inspired by nature – think pebble grey, or mushroom. Place simple, woven rugs made of raffia or wool on the floor for warmth, then shop for chunky, rustic furniture made from raw, unfinished wood. Look for reclaimed pieces that retain all the charm of aged wood. Keep your bedlinen simple – plain white cotton or linen – and invest in a few porcelain accessories such as lamps or vases for an elegant, unfussy look.
