1) Bold & Bright Colours

It’s official – colour blocking, clashing, and print-mixing are going nowhere. In fact, we spotted bold and bright colours at many of the runway shows this year, including in shows by Burberry, Roksanda Ilincic, and Anya Hindmarch. In addition, House of Holland experimented with loud and clashing colours for their SS15 collection too, as did Sibling London (who notably topped their models with giant bright bows!)

Sahhby Chic Rattan Storage Box

Rattan storage box Shabby chic rustic storage box

We get inspiration from various situations. I suppose when you’re an artist or a musician, you can get inspired by a glimpse of light coming between the curtains, or a sound heard in the forest. Yesterday, as I was coming back from the auction, I put my cardigan on top of the shabby chic rustic storage box I just bought. I thought they looked very good together, the winter chunky look of the cardigan complimenting the rustic raw look of the basket. Later that day, when I was taking photos of the new stock I bought, I thought I will use the cardigan with the rattan basket again, as I loved this look. Especially as the sun was very low, and the light was quite toned down. That really complimented the mauve shade of the box, and added to the calm wintery feel of the whole photo. I am very pleased with the effect, and I hope you like it too!

Halloween Idea: Creepy Apple Heads

Halloween decorating ideas DIY

Here’s a Halloween decoration project so fun and creepy, you’ll lose your head over it. These shrunken heads are made from carved apples, which are slowly dried in the oven. As the apples shrivel, the spooky facial features become more prominent, and each head takes on its own personality.

John Malkovich Recreates Iconic Images with Sandro Miller

Posted on Updated on

John Malkovich has always been the most intriguing personality for me. Taking part in a movie ‘Being John Malkovich’ only proves how much he loves to experiment with the art and an artist, himself. Him, teamed up with the director Spike Jonze is just surrealist’s dream.

Right now, John Malkovich has taken part in an experiment, which gets all the social media talking. He decided to work with American photographer Sandro Miller, to recreate most iconic photographs and ‘Malkovich’ them. It is the most stunning gallery of images, and by looking at them, you realise how much Malkovich can stretch himself in the name of art. Nothing stays sacred, hidden or touched-up. We can see his face (and sometimes whole body) used as a material to mould into something else. Mould into someone else. Often the effect is stunning, as you know these photographs so well, you think you see the original, but in fact it is John Malkovich himself playing this role. Absolutely stunning, and it is yet another reason why I love this quirky and absolutely bonkers artist…

Creative & Simple Halloween Costume Ideas

So Halloween is slowly creeping in, and it calls for getting your creative juices flowing and coming up with some unusual halloween idea (for yourself, or for your kids), that won’t cost arms and legs. That is a challenge, but we at Cherrie Hub wear a big ‘C’ on our chests at all times. So we did some research for you and found quite unusual Halloween costume ideas, that won’t require buying new costumes, just few face paints, and you can get away with wearing your own clothes (or the ones you don’t mind sacrificing in the name of fun, as they probably will end up smeared in paint). Se here we go:

Coastal Living Room

I love coastal decor, the weathered furniture that looks like driftwood, white window shutters and twine, lots and lots of it! It is such a creative way to accessorise home, and you can be brave, as anything from very primitive decor to a high end luxury will fit perfectly together. I love the breezy atmosphere of coastal homes, this relaxed, laid back feel. Cornwall is a perfect backdrop for nautical decor, with plenty of beautiful sandy beaches. You can easily recreate this look at home, and especially if you own a holiday home by the sea. Isn’t it a perfect excuse to go really crazy and let your imagination flows without being worried about the practical side of things? You can buy really unusual driftwood coffee table, use paddles as coat hangers and window shutters as a headboard… It would be a dreamy project!

I love this nautical inspired living room I found online today, and it looks fantastic. The only thing I’d change is the coffee table, I would go for larger Laura Ashley Coffee Table in nautical style to match the shutters!
